OLOL NS is delighted to be part of an Erasmus School Mobility Programme which aims to explore appraoches to teaching modern forreign languages in schools across Europe.
Recently Mr. Moriarty travelled with a group of teachers and principals to Cadiz, Spain to observe and job shadow in schools there. The host schools had put a lot of work into receiving their visitors and created ample opportunities to see learning in action.
Each day there was a full timetable of activities and lessons where the teachers visiting got to engage with the children, observe teachers in action as they taught English (and regular lessons in Spanish too), and generally live the life of the school for a few days.
The group were also hosted by the local Education Centre who provided an overview of the Spanish Education system and how they plan to engage with childrens' learning in the years to come.
The Erasmus Programme is an excellent example of co-ordination in Europe allowing for those working in the education sector to broaden their experiences, competencies and practices in a sustainable manner.
